It is starting to look like a house, with garage walls, an entryway, opening for windows, and trusses for the roof. The Mighty United Methodists were working hard on March 16th to help make a home for this year’s family. The family consists of 8 members: Father & Mother from the Congo and their 5 children ranging in age from 2 to 14. They are living in a 3 bedroom apartment that is in an unsafe neighborhood. They are looking forward to their new home that will allow them to spend time outdoors so mom can garden and dad can play soccer with his children. They look forward to working alongside volunteers to provide 400 hours of “sweat equity” as we turn this project into the home of their dreams.
How you can help.
- Commit your Arizona Tax Credit for the working poor. We have envelopes to use to send in your donation if you need it. The requirements have not changed from last year. The allowable tax credit is the same and the contributions can be made as late as April 15th.
- Remember Habitat for Humanity in your prayers.
